About the Role

Flinders University is seeking an outstanding and passionate academic to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology (Teaching and Research). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the University’s growing reputation for excellence in teaching and research with a particular focus on advancing the College’s research strength area of Mind, Body and Cognition.

In this position, you will also:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and coordination of psychology programs and curriculum.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and student engagement.
  • Conduct and publish high-quality research aligned with Mind, Body and Cognition strengths.
  • Supervise and mentor Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry, and community partners to enhance impact.
  • Contribute to academic leadership, governance, and a positive, inclusive College culture.

This position is open to international candidates, with relocation and visa support available.

About You

You are an emerging or established academic with a strong track record of research and a passion for inspiring, student-centred teaching. You bring a collaborative mindset, and are committed to innovation, academic excellence, and contributing to a thriving research and learning community.

Candidates will be considered for appointment at Level B (Lecturer) or Level C (Senior Lecturer) depending on experience. You will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD in Psychology.
  • Evidence of quality tertiary teaching, including topic coordination and curriculum design across multiple modalities.
  • A strong research track record relative to career stage, including publications, grants, and supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
  • Commitment to leadership and service that strengthens Psychology and enhances research, teaching, and community impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
