Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in a related discipline with relevant work experience.
• Proven track record in functional genomics research with high impact.
• Experience with CRISPR or perturbation technologies.
• Experience with iPSC disease models and/or organoids is advantageous.
• Experience in teaching and learning design at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
• Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to inclusion initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead a new research capability in functional genomics and disease modelling.
• Contribute to teaching in genetics and molecular biology.
• Establish an independent, externally funded research program.
• Collaborate with UNSW and partners to support platform use.
• Supervise HDRs and contribute to HDR review processes.
• Publish high-quality research and secure competitive grants.
• Lead School meetings, seminars, and participate in committees.
