Job summary

Ava James Recruitment partners with a national civil engineering consultancy to appoint a Lead Estimator for its growing Perth office. You will lead a team across the full tender lifecycle, owning cost estimates, risk assessment and bid strategy for major infrastructure projects.

You will also mentor engineers, drive client meetings and uphold best-practice estimating standards while delivering on a national pipeline of opportunities across roads, mining, defence and utilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years civil estimating with leadership
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Proven delivery of estimates across major civil projects
• Strong commercial acumen across pricing, risk, programme and tender strategy

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating and project engineering team, on site and off site
• Ensure the accuracy, quality and integrity of all deliverables against client requirements
• Lead internal and client project kick-off meetings and peer review nominated projects
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including full pricing of components and assessment of risk
• Review plans, drawings, specifications and contracts to identify risk, opportunity and contingency
• Manage project budgets, resourcing plans and team utilisation against KPIs
• Manage client relationships, attend review meetings and capture client feedback
• Mentor engineers, support HR activity, and contribute to business development
