Job summary

Queensland Government's Legal Aid Queensland is seeking a Senior Lawyer to advocate for sexual assault complainants in Queensland State Courts, handling protected counselling communications and providing duty lawyer services.

You will coordinate the Counselling Notes Protect Service, develop referral pathways with Women’s Legal Service, and contribute to training and outreach across family law services. Flexible working arrangements and staff support are highlighted in the package.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for complainants of sexual assault in Queensland State Courts.
• Provide legal information and task assistance to counselling services and Queensland Police during investigations.
• Develop referral pathways and networks with Women's Legal Service and external stakeholders.
• Provide continuing professional development and community legal education on sexual assault counselling privilege legislation and related matters.
• Provide duty lawyer services, legal information, advice and referrals across family law services.
