Job summary

The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is hiring a Senior Land Services Officer - Regional Programs Coordinator in Dubbo or negotiable within the Central West Local Land Service region. This ongoing full-time role coordinates on-ground projects and supports staff delivering funded programs across TSR and Invasive Species units.

The role of Senior Land Services Officer - Regional Programs Coordinator with the Central West Local Land Service is responsible for the coordination of on-ground projects and support for staff implementing funded programs, working across both the Travelling Stock Reserve (TSR) and Invasive Species units. This role will see you have a blend of practical on-ground and outdoor experience as well as stakeholder engagement and the development and coordination of plans and procedures.

To Do This You Will

• Work with TSR and Invasive Species teams to implement the TSR Plan of Management and Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan.
• Work with the teams and stakeholders to develop and implement Annual Delivery Plan activities, including prioritising on-ground works, budgeting, contract management, monitoring and reporting.
• Work with Statewide Advisory Groups and local staff to contribute to and implement statewide programs.
• Engage with community groups, Local Land Service customers and other government departments to identify opportunities for management including providing and implementing best practice advice and support to our customers and stakeholders.
• Implement on-ground activities in line with legislative requirements including the Local Land Services Act 2013 and the Biosecurity Act 2015.
• Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to capture and improve outcomes of TSR and pest animal management.
• Develop plans and procedures to be used at the regional level and respond to correspondence and requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful you’ll need to be someone who has great communication skills and can successfully deliver projects and programs.

You’ll have strong computer literacy, including the ability to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or the ability to develop GIS skills.

Experience and/or knowledge in monitoring an evaluation is also desirable as well as your ability to multitask and coordinate projects on time, within scope and on budget.

A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays) is also required.
