Job summary

Viable Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Java Spring Boot Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for enterprise clients. You will create Java-based microservices and REST APIs using Spring Boot, ensuring high performance and reliability in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities include developing microservices, exposing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and implementing solutions with Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and database optimisations.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years hands-on Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 11/17+ (OOP, functional, concurrent).
• Spring Boot expertise for REST API development and microservices.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework (MVC, Security, Data, Cloud).
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and database integration.
• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and performance tuning.
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
• Docker and Kubernetes expertise; containerisation and orchestration.
• Hands-on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS).
• CI/CD tools experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and patterns.
• Experience with unit/integration testing (JUnit, Mockito).
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build and expose RESTful and GraphQL APIs for frontend and third-party systems.
• Develop and maintain backend business logic, service layers, and data access layers.
• Implement Spring components—Spring MVC, Security, Data, Cloud.
• Write clean, well-tested code following SOLID principles.
• Design and implement microservices architecture with proper communication patterns.
• Implement inter-service communication using REST, gRPC, or message brokers.
• Work with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Implement service discovery, API gateway, and circuit breakers.
• Design for scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
