Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality software solutions and stay current with modern tools and AI-assisted workflows.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, hybrid environment, with some time at our Columbia, MD office and flexible work options when available.

Qualifications

9 years experience in Software Engineering with modern Java frameworks.
Demonstrated experience as tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
Experience with RESTful web services and microservices architecture.
Proficient in OOP and agile software lifecycle.
Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and in a team.
Must have or be able to obtain DoD 8140/8570 compliance (Security+).
Hybrid work with 1–2 days per week at Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
Collaborate with engineers to create software solutions meeting client needs.
Stay up-to-date with latest developments and guide AI-assisted workflows as needed.
Mentor junior staff and lead engineering efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure security, performance, and architectural alignment of code.
