Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer to build and maintain the Entitlements Platform, ensuring real-time provisioning of banking access and permissions. You will work on microservices using Spring Boot, leverage GCP, and optimize Cassandra-backed data stores in a DevOps environment.

You will collaborate across teams in Banking and Financial Services, contribute to platform reliability, and pursue continuous learning in cutting-edge technologies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java 21+ engineering experience.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices with Spring Boot.
• Proficient with Google Cloud Platform services and distributed apps.
• Proficient with Cassandra, SQL, and Gremlin for high-throughput data stores.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and environment configuration management.
• Production support experience including incident analysis and improving resilience.

Join a team of high performing engineers in Customer Entitlements where we are building a revolutionary platform leveraging cutting-edge technologies like DSE Graph and Apache Cassandra, that will provision, determine and maintain the account access and permission of Banking and Financial Services customers in near real-time. What role will you play?

As a Senior Engineer with around 7+ years of experience, you will build and maintain Entitlements Platform services and environments using industry best practices. This includes learning about the business, building and maintaining high quality software in a DevOps manner, and helping automate its testing and environment robustness.

What you offer

• Hands-on and proven expertise with Java 21+, including deep knowledge of modern language features and performance-oriented coding practices.


• Strong experience in designing and implementing microservices using Spring Boot, with a focus on scalability, observability, and cloud readiness.


• Practical experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services,including deploying, monitoring, and optimising distributed applications.


• Proficiency in Cassandra, SQL, and Gremlin, with the ability to model, query, and tune data stores for high-throughput, low-latency systems.


• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and environment configuration management, ensuring robust, reliable, and repeatable delivery workflows.


• Experience supporting production environments, including incident analysis, service reliability, monitoring, alerting, and improving system resilience.


• A strong willingness to learn and continuously explore emerging technologies, tools, and platform innovations.
