Job summary

XPT Software is seeking a capable software engineer in Melbourne with up to 10 years of development experience across the full software lifecycle. The role emphasizes object-oriented design, full-stack development, and modern web technologies including SPAs and UI/UX basics.

The ideal candidate has strong Agile experience, unit testing, automation, and some DevOps/infrastructure automation, plus solid database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and VectorPG.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Up to 10 years' software development experience across design, build, testing, deployment and support.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, full-stack development, modern web technologies including SPAs, and UI/UX design basics.
• Experience with Agile practices, unit testing, test automation, Continuous Delivery and DevOps/infrastructure automation.
• Strong database experience across MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and VectorPG.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies, relevant frameworks/tooling, and basic Unix/Linux skills.
