Job summary

Clicks IT Recruitment partners with a globally recognised mining technology organisation to recruit a Senior Java Developer. The role focuses on building cloud-native, real-time software for large-scale mining operations and requires experience with Java, Spring, RESTful APIs and microservices.

You will join a high-performing team, own technical outcomes, mentor engineers and work onsite in Brisbane CBD. The contract is for 12 months with potential extensions and no remote work accepted.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong Java development expertise.
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• RESTful API development experience.

• Strong database design and development skills.
• Experience building applications in cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Java applications and backend services.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Design scalable, resilient and maintainable software solutions.
• Deliver features end-to-end from refinement and estimation through to development, testing and release.
• Contribute to solution design, technical decision-making and delivery planning.
• Write clean, testable and well-documented code.
• Review code and support engineering best practices across the team.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance and collaboration.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Partner with Product, Quality Engineering and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Work closely with domain experts to understand complex mining and operational workflows.
• Take ownership of technical outcomes, proactively managing risks, dependencies and delivery commitments.
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability and security.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering practices and processes.

We're partnering with a globally recognised mining technology organisation seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering software that supports critical mining operations.

This role sits within a specialised mining technology environment, developing software that enables real-time guidance, monitoring, fleet management and operational visibility across large-scale mining operations. You'll join a high-performing, self-managing team working on modern cloud-native platforms, distributed systems and mission-critical applications used by some of the world's largest mining organisations.

What you'll be doing
