Job summary

Obsidian is seeking a Senior Media & Communications Advisor to lead media engagement and develop communications strategies for NSW projects. You will manage high‑profile enquiries, provide expert advice to internal stakeholders, and craft clear messages across channels.

The role requires strong storytelling, campaign delivery across multiple formats, and the ability to work flexibly from Parramatta with supportive flex arrangements. Salary is relative to experience with superannuation.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or experience in journalism, communications, or public affairs.
• Understanding of current affairs, contentious issues management, and end‑to‑end communications campaign delivery.
• Ability to be on call as required outside of normal working hours.

Help tell the stories behind the projects, places and communities shaping NSW. You'll create media content, campaigns and communication strategies that build public understanding and confidence in government priorities. Working across a diverse portfolio, you’ll contribute to high impact projects as part of a collaborative team.
