Job summary

Powerdata Group Consulting is seeking experienced Senior ICT Project Managers to lead strategic ICT investment, procurement, and governance initiatives within a large Federal Government environment in Canberra.

You will oversee budgets, contracts, and procurement framework development, collaborating with executives, finance teams, vendors, and technology stakeholders to ensure successful program outcomes and effective risk management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated specialist expertise in program and project management, strategic planning, financial management, reporting, procurement and contract management.
• Proven experience managing complex ICT operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, allocations, accruals, analysis and financial reporting.
• Proven capability in vendor negotiations, contract renewals and commercial strategy development.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills across finance, procurement, architecture, ICT and business units.
• Ability to provide high-quality strategic advice in a complex, high-risk ICT environment.
• Knowledge of ICT running-cost programs, infrastructure planning, and software licensing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex ICT programs and projects to deliver business and technology outcomes.
• Manage ICT operating and capital budgets with forecasting, allocations and reporting.
• Provide strategic sourcing, procurement, and commercial advice for major ICT initiatives.
• Develop procurement documentation, sourcing strategies, and evaluation approaches.
• Support vendor negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial strategy development.
• Conduct commercial risk assessments and implement mitigations.
• Establish governance and reporting frameworks for ICT costs and investments.
• Oversee infrastructure refresh initiatives and investment planning.
• Produce executive reports, dashboards, and benefits realisation metrics.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across finance, procurement, architecture, ICT and business.
