Job summary

Ampcontrol Limited in Townsville seeks a Senior HV Protection Technician to lead testing, commissioning and maintenance of HV protection systems across mining, utilities, industrial and infrastructure projects. You will solve complex faults and mentor technicians and graduates.

You will bring substantial hands-on HV protection testing experience, the ability to interpret protection schemes and relay settings, plus strong leadership, safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical trades qualification or degree as specified.
• Hands-on HV protection testing, commissioning and maintenance experience.
• Ability to interpret protection schemes, drawings, relay settings and test results.
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV protection testing, commissioning and maintenance in field and lab environments.
• Investigate complex faults, interpret protection drawings and relay settings, and validate system performance.
• Coordinate site testing and technical resources, and prepare commissioning records and reports.
• Mentor technicians and graduates, and provide technical guidance to customers and project teams.
• Uphold relevant standards, safe work practices, quality and customer service.
