Job summary

The Safe Step is seeking a senior Health & Safety leader to drive safety systems, compliance and assurance across multiple Australian states. This role provides strategic leadership while engaging operations, leaders, contractors and regulators to strengthen systems and lift capability.

You will lead safety standards, provide expert advice, manage regulatory compliance frameworks and oversee audits to ensure continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or related field.
• Experience leading safety systems, standards and procedures.
• Strong assurance and audit capability with measurable improvements.
• Ability to influence across broad stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve health and safety standards, systems, tools and processes.
• Provide specialist advice across safety legislation, risk, systems and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the regulatory compliance framework across safety and broader technical obligations.
• Oversee assurance and audit programs, including effectiveness of risk controls and management systems.
