The Mackay Hospital and Health Service in tropical north Queensland is seeking a Senior House Officer to join our Emergency Department. You will participate in delivering acute medical care for a diverse regional population and contribute to a tiered training site accredited for ACEM and other programs.

This role requires medical registration or eligibility and prior experience in emergency medicine; vaccine-preventable disease requirements apply.

It is accredited for Specialist Fellowship Training by ACEM, ACRRM Advanced Skills Training (AST), RACGP Core Generalist Training (CGT).We are an Adult/Mixed Non-Major Referral Base Emergency Department for Mackay Hospital & Health service, currently Accredited as a Tier 3 Training Site for 12 Months of Training in Emergency Medicine.We also offer foundational, intermediate and Advanced Associateship ACEM Training programs in Emergency Medicine. There are opportunities for Non-ED Terms in Anaesthetics, ICU and other Departments.There are ample learning opportunities for point of care ultrasound through our FACEM cohort.Your opportunityA Senior House Officer in ED is a medical practitioner in the second or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner.
