Job summary

Southern Cross Care is seeking a Permanent Part Time Home Care Assistant to help older adults live independently at home. In this role you will provide personal care, social support, meal preparation and domestic assistance in clients' homes.

You will also mentor fellow staff, support the local home care office with administrative tasks and assist with medication prompts, mobility and local transport. A Certificate III in Aged Care or related field is required, along with a current driver's

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Disability.
• Current full driver's licence and CTP insurance.
• First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Previous experience as a personal carer or care assistant without direct supervision.
• Good computer skills, strong time management, and a compassionate attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, social support, meal preparation, and domestic assistance in clients' homes.
• Assist with medication prompts, mobility, and local transportation.
• Provide express coverage when care workers are on unplanned leave.
• Mentor and guide fellow home care assistants.
• Complete office administration duties to support customer services when not with clients
