Job summary

The Department of Government Services (DGS) in Melbourne is seeking a senior governance professional to join the Consumer Affairs and Local Government group. You will provide expert policy, strategy and delivery advice to support CALG priorities and coordinate complex initiatives across portfolios.

This ongoing role requires government coordination experience and qualifications in public administration, law, policy or project management, with the ability to engage internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience working in government coordination or governance roles is essential.
• Tertiary qualifications relating to public administration; law; policy; and/or project management would be highly regarded.
• Relevant experience or subject matter expertise working within CALG portfolio areas would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Administers and provides specialist advice on group planning and reporting processes.
• Provides policy, strategy and operational advice on complex initiatives and briefings for the Deputy Secretary.
• Proactively builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external organisations to support engagement and resolution of issues.
• Manages visibility of portfolio priorities through reports and by executive meetings; coordinates deliverables for decision makers.
• Gathers, interprets, and shares information at high and detailed levels as required.
• Provides delivery support to governance and planning functions with an efficiency-focused change management lens.
