Job description

Take on a visible governance role supporting key program and project decision making forums across the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority. You will coordinate high-quality papers, reporting, actions and information flows in a busy environment where priorities move quickly. This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced governance professional who enjoys keeping multiple forums on track, working autonomously and finding practical solutions to problems.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About The Role

As the Senior Governance Advisor, you will provide governance, reporting and secretariat support to key program and project-level governance forums, including project control boards, subcommittees, working groups and management meetings.

This is an engaging and challenging opportunity for an experienced governance professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, varied priorities and taking ownership of outcomes.

You will coordinate governance processes, documentation and information flows, proactively following up inputs, actions and approvals to support timely decision-making and effective flows of information between teams and decision-makers.

Working closely with management, project teams and external stakeholders, you will prepare high-quality documentation, maintain clear and accurate governance records, and contribute to the continuous improvement of governance frameworks, reporting processes and records management practices.

The role requires someone who can work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and find practical solutions to keep governance activities moving.

This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until late March 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate secretariat, reporting and governance support for multiple senior program and project forums to support informed decision making and information flows.
  • Prepare and distribute high-quality agendas, briefing notes, presentations, meeting papers, minutes, action items, memoranda and submissions.
  • Proactively track and follow up on outstanding inputs, actions, reports and approvals to meet governance and reporting timeframes.
  • Provide best practice and contemporary advice to management and project teams, including governance frameworks, improvements and the establishment of new governance bodies.
  • Maintain accurate action, decision and implementation registers, governance records, look ahead schedules and activity calendars.
  • Collate and quality assure reports, briefings, presentations and information papers to ensure documentation is clear, accurate, timely and fit for purpose.
  • Identify and implement improvements to governance and reporting processes and support effective information flows across internal and external stakeholders.
About You
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality secretariat and governance support to multiple senior governance entities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously, apply sound judgement and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and analytical skills, including the ability to assess information, identify key issues and prepare clear, concise and decision focused governance material.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively and professionally with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate governance principles, meeting coordination, reporting, minute taking, document formatting and control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and SharePoint, together with experience using document and records management systems and collaborative document sharing tools.
