Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Senior Governance Adviser to partner with executives and leaders, translating complex legislation into clear guidance. You will lead a Governance Advisory team, ensuring accurate policy interpretation, compliance and timely statutory reporting.

You will oversee meeting processes, drive continuous improvement, and engage stakeholders while contributing to a transparent governance culture across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant governance experience in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, legislation and compliance.
• Proven leadership, including mentoring and coaching.
• Experience with statutory meetings, governance protocols and decision frameworks.
• Experience handling sensitive and politically nuanced matters with discretion.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to develop policies, delegations and governance docs.

• Provide strategic governance, legislative and policy advice to executives.
