We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

Snowy 2.0, currently under construction, is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

Ready to make your mark on one of the most high-profile and complex infrastructure developments in the country?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist to join our dynamic team on-site at Tantangara. This isn't a job where you'll be stuck behind a desk all day. We are looking for someone who thrives in the field, taking ownership of geotechnical investigations, design implementation, and detailed analyses to ensure ground conditions are expertly managed from start to finish. This role will have you working a 70/30 split across overseeing on site activities and design.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Leadership (The 70%): Overseeing construction activities on-site to guarantee all work meets the latest IFC drawings, safety standards, and employer requirements.

Technical Design (The 30%): Completing mapping of excavated faces, attending GMM's and verifying support classes to the IFC design.

Specialised Geotech Focus: Driving heavy slope stability assessments and implementing self-supporting slope treatments (including rock bolting and anchors).

Investigation & Analysis: Overseeing Contractor surface investigations to assess rock and soil conditions, and reviewing borehole drilling, sampling, and lab testing programs (As required)

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with structural, civil, and environmental engineers, as well as the Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) and other contractors.

About the location:

This role is located at Tantangara and will require you to be 100% on-site, working a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard camp-style ammentities are provided.

About you:

Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field (PE or Chartered status is preferred).

A strong onsite background: We are looking for someone who loves the field. A background heavily weighted towards site execution.

Local Expertise: The majority of your experience must be within Australia or New Zealand, bringing a rock-solid understanding of AU/NZS standards.

Niche Technical Skills: Strong experience in slope stability and self-supporting slope treatments (rock bolting/anchors). Bonus points if you have experience with minor spoil processing and deep excavations (ground anchors/tailings).

Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil mechanics, foundation design, ground improvement techniques, and geotechnical instrumentation
