Job summary

Launceston General Hospital, part of the Tasmanian Health Department, seeks a Staff Specialist in General Medicine/ Acute Care Services to provide specialist medical care across acute medicine, wards, clinics and stroke services. The role offers day work with on-call responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must hold specialist registration (or be on the specialist pathway as an IMG) and meet the selection criteria.

Qualifications

• Holds specialist registration; or an IMG on the specialist pathway.
• Is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and experience in the speciality.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist medical care across acute medicine, inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, stroke services and intermediate care.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, teaching and service development in Northern Tasmania.
