Job summary

Senior Fund Accountant in Sydney CBD, NSW is a pivotal member of a high-performing finance team supporting a growing property investment business. You will manage fund accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and cash management to ensure accurate information for confident decision-making.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and CFO, you will work with investment, asset and finance teams, coordinate budgeting, BAS, GST, tax distributions and assist external audits to strengthen

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent is required.
• Property or investment management industry experience preferred.
• Strong financial and management accounting knowledge.
• Understanding of taxation, GST and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting for investment funds.
• Prepare quarterly financial reporting packs and NAV calculations.
• Manage statutory financial reporting and external audit processes.
• Prepare BAS and support GST compliance.
• Prepare annual tax distribution calculations and income tax returns.
• Coordinate annual fund budgeting and expense forecasts.
• Prepare asset-level financial and capital expenditure reporting.
• Monitor cash balances and identify cash flow risks across investment entities.
• Manage debt drawdowns, interest payments and debt covenant reporting.
• Review acquisition settlement adjustments and liaise with property and finance teams.
• Build strong working relationships with internal investment, asset management and finance teams.
• Liaise effectively with external property managers, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers.

Job Details We are seeking an ambitious Senior Fund Accountant to join a high-performing finance team supporting a growing property investment business. You will play an important role in supporting disciplined investment and capital decisions, strengthening financial governance and helping the business achieve sustainable long-term outcomes. Reporting into the Financial Controller and CFO, you will have broad responsibility across fund accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, debt reporting, cash management and financial analysis. You will also work closely with investment management, asset management, property management and external advisers to ensure financial information is accurate and supports confident decision-making.

What you’ll be doing:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting for investment funds


• Prepare quarterly financial reporting packs and NAV calculations


• Manage statutory financial reporting and external audit processes


• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and support broader GST compliance


• Prepare annual tax distribution calculations and income tax returns


• Coordinate annual fund budgeting and expense forecasts


• Prepare regular asset-level financial and capital expenditure reporting


• Monitor cash balances and identify potential cash flow risks across investment entities


• Manage debt drawdowns, interest payments and debt covenant reporting


• Review acquisition settlement adjustments and liaise with relevant property and finance teams


• Build strong working relationships with internal investment, asset management and finance teams


• Liaise effectively with external property managers, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers

What we’re looking for:

• Must be CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)


• Must have Property or Investment Management industry experience


• Strong in Financial and Management Accounting processes


• And Understanding of Taxation, GST and Statutory requirements
