Job summary

Quantium, a world leader in data science and AI, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the wiq practice at Woolworths iQ. You will design and build full-stack solutions, collaborating with data scientists to productionize analytics.

You will work in cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure), apply AI-assisted development, and help uplift engineering standards across the squad.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with proven experience in full-stack development and high code quality.
• Hands-on experience with Python and/or React; data engineering experience valued.
• Practical cloud experience (GCP/AWS/Azure) and strong cloud fundamentals.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and communicate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions from data pipelines to user-facing features.
• Advocate for strong engineering practices including testing and architecture.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer within our wiq (Woolworths iQ) practice, you will join the Buying & Merchandising team working on the Assortment Recommender - a well-scoped product with a defined roadmap, sitting at the intersection of data, analytics, and engineering inside one of Australia’s largest retailers. You will work closely with data scientists and analysts to build and uplift the engineering capability of a fast-moving, high-impact team.

How will you make an impact?

• Engineering delivery: Design, build, and maintain full stack solutions that bring analytical and data science work into production, working end-to-end from data pipelines through to user-facing features
• Engineering standards uplift: Model and advocate for strong engineering practices - code quality, testing, and sound architecture - helping close capability gaps within the team and lifting the bar for the whole squad
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration: Work as a bridge between engineering and data science, translating between technical disciplines to keep delivery on track and solutions grounded in good software fundamentals
• Cloud-native development: Operate confidently in cloud environments (GCP preferred), contributing to scalable and maintainable infrastructure and data engineering solutions
• AI-assisted development: Embrace and apply AI tooling as part of your everyday workflow - this is an expectation of the role, not a bonus

The superpowers you’ll be bringing to the team:

• Solid engineering fundamentals: Demonstrated experience as a senior engineer, with strong instincts around code quality, testing, and software design across the full stack
• Python and/or React experience: Hands-on experience with the core stack; additional data engineering experience is valued
• Cloud experience: Practical experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure - GCP knowledge is a bonus but cloud fundamentals matter most
• Comfort with ambiguity: Proven ability to deliver in fast-moving environments where priorities shift, documentation is incomplete, and quarterly reprioritisation is the norm
• Collaborative mindset: Experience working alongside non-engineering technical stakeholders such as analysts and data scientists, with the interpersonal skills to communicate across disciplines effectively
• AI curiosity: Actively using AI-assisted development tools and genuinely interested in how they improve the way you work
