Job summary

HOTmaths Pty Ltd in Melbourne is hiring a Software Engineer to build the content management systems for its educational platform. It is a primarily front-end role using TypeScript and React, with some backend work on Payload CMS, extending it to support new resource types over time.

You'll work with content providers including Cambridge University Press, handling HTML, XML and LaTeX, and participate in an agile team delivering iterative releases from our Port Melbourne office two days weekly.

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years in professional software engineering.
Strong TypeScript and React experience for web apps.
Ability to transform complex data into structured JSON.
Experience with HTML/XML/LaTeX is a plus.
Good communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Degree in IT/CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Build and refine the front-end of Payload CMS in TypeScript and React.
Design and build support for new educational resource types as the platform grows.
Handle backend work to parse and convert content into CMS JSON.
Work with HTML, XML and LaTeX content formats.
Collaborate with Cambridge University Press and QA teams.
Operate in an agile environment with iterative releases.
