About the Opportunity

We’re recruiting on behalf of a VC-backed Australian start-up at the cutting edge of life sciences and software. Our client is revolutionising genomic sequencing through the development of synthetic spike-in DNA/RNA controls and a brand-new bioinformatics platform. This is a high-impact opportunity for a Senior Front End Developer to join a multidisciplinary product team and shape the future of precision diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement modern, scalable front-end solutions with a strong focus on UI/UX and usability
Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and bring data visualisations and insights to life
Optimise performance and implement best practices in accessibility, maintainability, and code quality
Contribute to product design discussions and participate in code reviews and technical planning sessions
Help define and enforce front-end coding standards, architecture, and testing frameworks

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in front-end software development
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design principles
Ability to write clean, well-structured, maintainable code
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile start-up environment
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Background or interest in data visualisation, genomics, or scientific applications
Understanding of API design and system architecture
