Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking a senior front-end engineer in Canberra to translate design systems into scalable, accessible UIs while collaborating across the full tech stack. You will optimize performance, ensure WCAG-compliant experiences, and prototype rapidly with AI-assisted tooling.

You will work closely with client teams, deliver pixel-perfect interfaces, and contribute to testing strategies using Jest, Playwright, and Cypress within modern build tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with modern front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, Sitecore or Angular), TS/JS, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive UIs with design systems.
• Able to integrate with REST/GraphQL APIs and contribute across the stack (Node.js, Python or Java).
• Focus on Core Web Vitals, bundle size, rendering performance and cross-browser behavior.
• Create accessible experiences meeting WCAG standards.
• Bias for rapid prototyping and iterative user feedback.
• Hands-on SDLC testing: unit, component and end-to-end (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress) and tooling (Vite, Webpack, CI/CD).
• AI coding assistants and guardrails for reliable front-end delivery.
• Hands-on cloud: AWS, GCP or Azure (CDNs, edge, serverless).
• Client-facing mindset: translate business problems into experience solutions.
