Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking a forensic accounting specialist to support unexplained wealth investigations and confiscation proceedings. You will work with police investigators to interpret financial documents, trace funds, and provide expert financial analysis for court proceedings under the Confiscation Act 1997.

The role requires specialised accounting knowledge, ability to manage multiple matters with deadlines, and the capacity to present as an expert witness in court.

Qualifications

• CPA status with CPA Australia and/or CA status with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Interpret financial documents, records and business structures for police investigations.
• Present financial analysis as an expert witness in court for confiscation matters.
• Prepare and present financial analysis under new unexplained wealth legislation under the Confiscation Act 1997.
• Write expert witness reports/affidavits and appear as an expert witness in court.
