Job summary

State Emergency Service Victoria (VICSES) is seeking a Senior Fleet Program Lead to oversee end-to-end fleet procurement and refurbishment programs across VICSES, excluding leasing. The role requires owning the program schedule, governance, and reporting, ensuring delivery within budget and risk controls.

You will collaborate with Fleet Services, Equipment, Service Delivery and QA teams to pre-commission vehicles, coordinate kit orders, and lead fit-out activities.

Job description

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Fleet Program Lead is responsible for the end-to-end management of fleet procurement and purchasing programs across VICSES, excluding fleet leasing, which is managed by Fleet Services.

The position is accountable for establishing and maintaining the overall fleet build and refurbishment program schedule, reporting frameworks, and controls to monitor progress, financial performance, risks, issues, supplier milestones, and dependencies across all fleet programs. This includes consolidated reporting for VESEP, annual fleet replacement programs, ERC (BP4), external reporting requests, and internal executive and project governance forums.

The role works closely with Fleet Services, Equipment, Service Delivery, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure all aspects of pre-commissioning are planned, coordinated, and executed in a timely manner. This includes ensuring new rescue truck equipment kits are ordered, staged, and available to support stowage induction and commissioning activities. The Senior Fleet Program Lead also leads the fit-out and refurbishment function, ensuring vehicles are prepared for commissioning and quality assurance activities in accordance with approved plans and schedules.

The role may be required to travel to supplier sites or other VICSES sites which may require overnight stays.

The role may be required to support planned workshops, taskforces and other engagement activities outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate volunteer availability and support planning and delivery requirements.

Note: This role is located at our Grimes Crt, Derrimut facility. Daily attendance at the facility is required. Limited Work From Home (WFH) flexibility may be offered post probation period on an ad-hoc basis.
