Job summary

SA Water in Adelaide is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead strategic fleet initiatives, oversee heavy and light fleet assets, procurement, contractor performance, and asset lifecycle management.

You will partner with business units and senior stakeholders, use data-driven insights to optimise fleet performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, compliance with NHVL and road rules, while delivering high standards of customer service.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Project Management or related field.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic decision-making capability.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including with senior leaders.
  • Extensive experience in fleet or contract management, including performance analysis.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and asset optimisation.
  • Proven experience applying the NHVL and related legislation, with demonstrated compliance, safety, and regulatory knowledge within large organisations (Essential).
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (desirable).

  • Develop and maintain fleet procedures, guidelines, and safety programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and service providers to deliver customer-focused outcomes.

The role requires a strong heavy fleet management background, with expertise in fleet operations, asset lifecycle management, procurement, contractor performance, compliance, and project delivery. Working closely with business units and senior stakeholders, you will use data-driven insights and commercial acumen to optimise fleet performance, lead innovative fleet solutions, and support continuous improvement while ensuring a high standard of customer service and operational excellence.
