About the Assignment

The primary objective of this position is to provide financial business partnering and decision‑making support to Santos’ functional teams.

  • Finance business partnering and decision‑making support to functional leads, their reports and other key stakeholders.
  • Tracking, analysing and providing reports on expenditure, including departmental cost pools (direct costs and allocations).
  • Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the functional teams.
  • Contributing to half‑year and year‑end reporting requirements, including preparation of subsidiary financial statements and assistance with audit queries.
  • Perform month‑end accounting including preparation of journals (as required), account reconciliations, review of results and completion of appropriate integrity checks prior to ledger close.
  • Provide ad‑hoc analysis to support decision‑making as required.
  • Support projects focused on improvement to decision‑making processes and systems.
  • Adhering to Santos standards and processes (DOA, SMS, Code of Conduct).

This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod. Location is Adelaide; working full‑time office hours.

About You
  • Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Finance or a similar tertiary degree.
  • CA, CPA or equivalent is required.
  • Business Partnering experience.
  • Management Accounting, Financial Reporting or Audit experience.
  • MS Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) proficiency.
  • Oil and gas or mining companies experience is desired.
  • SAP and Jedox experience is desired.
