About the Role:

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a major heavy industry operator based in coastal North Queensland. Offering a mix of strategic insight, business partnering, and hands-on financial analysis and modelling, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment and keen to be closer to the action.

This is a permanent, full-time position based on-site (Monday to Friday). Full relocation support and temporary accommodation are available to help you, and your family settle into the local community.

What to Expect:

This role is responsible for delivering financial analysis and reporting, while coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes to support optimal financial outcomes and ensure the operation meets its financial obligations.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the financial performance of the operation through robust analysis, insight, and planning. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the budgeting and forecasting cycles across all departments
• Preparing and delivering internal management reports and financial commentary
• Performing guided and ad hoc financial analysis to provide meaningful insights into port operations and support decision-making
• Working closely with operational teams to combine financial and operating data for strategic improvements
• Supporting the Finance Manager with business improvement initiatives and planning
• Advising internal stakeholders and contributing to broader team success

Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical capability, and a genuine interest in business performance will be critical to success in this role.

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualified (or progressing towards)
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience within heavy industry, mining, infrastructure, or a similar operational environment would be ideal.
• High-level Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
