Job description

We are seeking an experienced financial professional for a 12-month contract as a Senior Financial Analyst within the Group Finance team of a nationally recognised natural resources company, based in the heart of Adelaide's CBD.

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with functional teams as a trusted finance business partner, providing critical decision‑making support and delivering valuable financial insights that drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Acting as a finance business partner by providing decision‑making support to functional leads, their teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on expenditure, including departmental cost pools (direct costs and allocations).
  • Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for functional teams.
  • Contributing to half‑year and year‑end reporting requirements, including preparing subsidiary financial statements and assisting with audit queries.
  • Performing month‑end accounting tasks such as journal preparation (as required), account reconciliations, reviewing results, and completing integrity checks prior to ledger close.
  • Providing ad‑hoc financial analysis to support decision‑making processes.
  • Supporting projects aimed at improving decision‑making processes and systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to company standards and processes (e.g., DOA, SMS, Code of Conduct).

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in finance business partnering.
  • Strong background in management accounting, financial reporting, or audit.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience working within oil and gas or mining industries.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Jedox systems.
  • A tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA, CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification.
