Queensland Ecologists is seeking a Senior Field Ecologist with demonstrated, Queensland-specific senior experience in flora and fauna. This is a role for an established ecologist who can lead field work and deliver assessment-ready results across South East Queensland.
What matters most: senior, Queensland-specific field experience in ecology (flora and fauna) - proven senior-level survey and species identification, not just a qualification. You must hold a relevant undergraduate degree; a postgraduate qualification is preferred, and CEnvP accreditation is highly regarded though not mandatory.
This is a hybrid role - your base is working from home, with field work across South East Queensland, concentrated around Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and southern Brisbane. You will plan and lead ecological surveys and habitat assessments, collect and interpret flora, fauna and habitat data, and prepare professional reports and mapping outputs that stand up to regulatory scrutiny. You will work closely with our principal ecologist and clients across a varied caseload. Full-time is preferred, but we will consider part-time for the right person.
We are a specialist consultancy trusted by developers, landowners and councils for practical, science-based advice. You will work on genuinely varied projects with real influence over how field work is run and reported.
