Job summary

VOCUS in Adelaide, Australia, is seeking an experienced Fibre Network Design Engineer to join our Network Planning & Design team. You will design end-to-end fibre routes, estimate costs and produce technical documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and Safety in Design principles.

You will mentor junior staff or provide technical leadership depending on experience, collaborate with stakeholders, contractors and vendors to deliver resilient and buildable network outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in fibre network planning, design and delivery.
• Experience with route plans, splice schedules and GIS/CAD records.
• Knowledge of network capacity management and buildability.
• Ability to develop cost estimates to support commercial decisions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end fibre routes for new services and expansions.
• Develop fibre solutions and cost estimates for quotes.
• Monitor capacity and plan upgrades to maintain performance.
• Produce design docs: plans, drawings, work orders, scopes of work.
• Apply Safety in Design and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support during build and delivery.
• Support preventative maintenance and remediation programs.
• Drive continuous improvements in processes and data quality.
• Maintain network records to ensure compliance.
• Achieve KPIs and project delivery targets.
