Job summary

CDPP seeks a Senior Federal Prosecutor (SFP) to lead complex criminal prosecutions and provide strategic legal advice to the Director and partner agencies. You will instruct Counsel, refine evidentiary material, and drive outcomes with sound judgment in a high-stakes environment.

You will mentor junior lawyers, build trusted relationships, and uphold APS conduct while enhancing CDPP capabilities and delivering ethical prosecutions for the Australian community.

Qualifications

• You are seasoned legal professionals with criminal litigation expertise.
• You refine complex evidentiary material into clear strategy and act with integrity.
• You excel in communication, negotiation and relationship-building with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Counsel in sentences, trials and appeals and represent the Director in court.
• Provide legal advice to the Director and partner agencies to drive outcomes.
• Lead prosecutions and apply legislation to frame charges for court.
• Use technology to assess briefs of evidence.
• Develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior legal staff and enhance CDPP capabilities.
