Job summary

CBRE in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to lead the facilities operations for two prime CBD towers on behalf of a major national institutional client.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you will oversee building services, manage costs, drive ESG and WHS, and deliver exceptional tenant engagement and asset performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Commercial Facilities Manager.
  • Trade background in Mechanical or Electrical services preferred.
  • Solid ESG and WHS knowledge.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle priorities.
  • Experience with capital works and tenancy fit outs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage services supporting building environments and specialist service providers, including fire safety, mechanical, BMCS, UPS, and critical environments.
  • Control operating expenditure and ensure cost-effective maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Oversee capital works and tenancy fit outs as required.
  • Carry out building inspections and action findings.
  • Monitor and improve environmental performance of the asset.
  • Provide excellent tenant stakeholder engagement and timely communications to tenants and stakeholders.
  • Advise client on technical and operational matters.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Property Management team in Canberra, working with a major national institutional client.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the facilities management of two prime commercial towers in the CBD. This is a high-profile portfolio where your technical expertise will directly influence asset performance and client outcomes.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, and fully supported by our high performing team, you will be responsible for the efficient, cost-effective operation, maintenance and development of all building services within the assets.

Here's a snapshot of your day;

  • Manage services supporting building environments and specialist service providers including but not limited to essential fire safety systems, mechanical services, BMCS, UPS, Emergency Power Generation systems, critical environments, and hydraulic services.
  • Manage operating expenditure and ensure efficient, sustainable and cost-effective maintenance and operation of all plant and equipment
  • Manage Capital works and tenancy fit outs as required
  • Carry out building inspections and action findings.
  • Monitor, report and improve the Environmental performance of the asset
  • Deliver superior customer service and develop key tenant stakeholder engagement by providing effective and timely communications to our Tenants and Stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to our Client on technical and operational matters

Key strengths and experience you'll need to be successful;

  • Demonstrated experience as a Commercial Facilities Manager
  • Trade background in either Mechanical or Electrical services and project management experience is preferred but not essential
  • Sound ESG and WHS knowledge and experience
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Proven experience in managing services supporting critical environments
  • Experience in managing Capital works and tenancy fit outs
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft packages and BMS systems
