A government agency in Australia seeks a Senior Executive Officer to provide executive support and manage communications. This role involves leading a team, preparing strategic reports, addressing issues, and ensuring operational objectives are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive management experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work autonomously. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement and a salary of $139,787 to $161,663 with additional benefits.

Employment type : Ongoing, Full-time (35 hours per week)
Salary : Clerk Grade 11 / 12 $139,787 to $161,663 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
The Senior Executive Officer provides a range of high-level executive, secretariat, and project support services to Major Program Delivery Executive Director including providing strategic advice, managing communications and implementing strategies to support the achievement of the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.
As part of the Major Program Delivery Executive Office in the Infrastructure and Asset division, you will lead and manage a team and ensure their understanding of the priorities of the organisation to enable delivery of high quality support and advice consistent with government and operational objectives.
Develop and oversee the implementation and evaluation of administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and support the achievement of quality outcomes.
Alongside your strong management and leadership experience you will need good knowledge of departmental processes, policy and programs, with confidence to act as a senior adviser to the Executive Director.
You’ll know how to anticipate and address contentious issues and provide accurate advice on complex matters and legislation, often within tight timeframes, given the need to collect and assimilate information from a variety of different sources, whilst maintaining confidentiality and exercising diplomacy.
You will have substantial and extensive senior administrative experience. Excellent planning and organisational skills, and a demonstrated ability to determine long term planning, set priorities and meet deadlines.
The ability to work independently, show initiative and problem solve across a broad range of issues and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and high-level consultation and negotiation skills.
