Job summary

McMahon Services in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the estimation and tender preparation for major commercial and industrial projects. Based at our Head Office in Dry Creek, you will supervise the estimation team and coordinate cost, time, materials, labour and equipment estimates for projects ranging from $1 million to $50 million.

You will drive competitive bidding, engage with subcontractors, suppliers and clients, and ensure compliance with Australian standards and HSE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in large construction project estimation.
• Expert in CostX and MS Office.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of estimation teams.
• Strong cost trend analysis and problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards/HSE legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Estimation & Tender Preparation: review RFX, plan tenders, prepare take-offs and first principles estimates for large projects.
• Manage Subcontractors & Suppliers: issue RFQs, analyse responses and build relationships.
• Innovate & Improve: develop competitive strategies and propose process improvements.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: supervise and develop the estimation team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders for successful bids.
• Ensure Compliance: integrate safety and quality standards into estimation work.
