Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead capital estimating for major power, renewable and gas projects within our Infrastructure Development team. You will work with Project Development Managers to deliver financially responsible estimates and provide expert guidance through the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes first-principles estimating, risk assessment, and collaboration with engineers, suppliers and project teams to optimise cost and value.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering capital estimates for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong capability to develop detailed estimates from drawings, specs and scope documents.
• Experience reviewing estimates through development, business case and tender stages.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed capital estimates from scopes, programs and delivery methods.
• Offer timely expert advice to project managers and supervisors on staffing and requirements.
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor cost data to ensure best-value pricing.
• Lead risk reviews to quantify contingencies and document mitigation or exclusions.
• Build and maintain cost databases with actual costs, unit rates and KPI data.
