Job summary

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on appointment requiring substantial postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
• Direct practical expertise in molecular biology, human biospecimen processing and sequencing.
• Computational expertise is an advantage but will not substitute for substantial experimental experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery studies on the epigenomic basis of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
• Establish workflows for DNA/RNA extraction from human biospecimens.
• Assess biospecimen quality for sequencing suitability.
• Design and troubleshoot NGS libraries.
• Implement rigorous QC for sample prep, library generation and sequencing readiness.
• Coordinate sequencing activities with internal platforms and external providers with traceability.
• Analyse sequencing data with bioinformaticians/biostatisticians on study design and interpretation.
