Job summary

Environmental Resources Management in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/Consultant to lead major project approvals and environmental impact assessment processes, focusing on renewables and major infrastructure in Queensland.

The role offers leadership, client-facing responsibilities, and access to ERM's global Impact Assessment community to share knowledge within a multidisciplinary network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5–10 years of experience in statutory planning, EIA, and/or environmental approvals; consulting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland planning and environmental legislation (e.g., Planning Act 2016, EPBC Act).
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships; strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessment projects and complex approvals in Queensland and under Commonwealth legislation.
• Manage multiple projects within scope, schedule, and budget with high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare technical proposals and contribute to business development with new and existing clients.
• Mentor junior and mid-level staff in EIA and approvals.
• Build collaborative relationships across ERM’s multidisciplinary teams.
