The Environment Protection Authority Victoria seeks a Principal Engineer to lead EPA’s engineering team and provide strategic governance across complex environmental, industrial and infrastructure systems. You will deliver authoritative risk assessments, engineering controls and regulatory advice while guiding a high-performing team.

You will shape engineering standards, respond to emerging technologies, and build partnerships with government, industry and communities in a role based at Macleod

Formación

• Senior leadership experience leading engineering teams and setting direction.
• Advanced engineering judgement applied to complex infrastructure, environmental or high-consequence risk matters.
• Proven ability to analyse evidence, uncertainty and provide strategic regulatory advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain risk and regulatory implications.
• Experience leading engineering or applied research programs and producing technical reports or publications.
• Bachelor degree or higher in engineering accredited by Engineers Australia or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop EPA’s engineering team, including performance, capability, resource allocation and culture.
• Establish and maintain engineering governance, QA, peer review and escalation pathways.
• Lead systems-level assessment of complex industrial, infrastructure and emerging tech projects.
• Provide authoritative leadership in risk assessment, barrier effectiveness and resilience engineering.
• Lead regulatory science advice, technical reports and multidisciplinary insights.
• Build strategic partnerships and represent EPA with stakeholders.
