City of Moreton Bay is seeking a Senior Environment Officer to lead environmental projects and investigations across the region. You will combine technical expertise with stakeholder engagement to drive biodiversity outcomes and ensure compliance with environmental obligations.

As a Senior Environment Officer, you will play a key role in leading environmental projects, programs and investigations that address current and emerging environmental issues across the region. Combining technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement, you will provide practical advice, drive positive environmental outcomes, support Council's legislative responsibilities, and supervise a team committed to protecting and enhancing our natural environment.
Additionally, you will:
Lead and support Environment Officers in managing complex, escalated and sensitive environmental matters, fostering a positive team culture.
Deliver environmental projects and programs, including fauna and flora management, bio-condition assessments, rehabilitation initiatives and ecological monitoring to improve biodiversity outcomes.
Investigate and respond to environmental matters, providing expert advice to residents, community groups, government agencies and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and environmental obligations.
Build strong partnerships and oversee contractors, consultants and service providers to successfully deliver projects, environmental education initiatives, management plans, research activities and grant-funded programs.
You are a passionate environmental professional who enjoys leading projects, building strong relationships and making a positive impact in the community. With excellent communication and customer service skills, you can confidently engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and support others to achieve great outcomes.
You bring experience delivering environmental projects, a sound understanding of environmental legislation and the ability to think critically and creatively when solving environmental and community issues. A collaborative and approachable team member, you are committed to continuous improvement and fostering a positive workplace culture.
A current C Class Driver Licence is required.
