Job summary

Versent is seeking a Senior Engineer – Security & Identity (Auth0) to design, build and deliver modern CIAM solutions at scale for diverse customers. You will tackle authentication, authorisation, federation and identity challenges across cloud-native environments.

You will collaborate with identity specialists, architects and engineers, implementing MFA, adaptive authentication and secure-by-design identity workflows while integrating with web, mobile and API-based applications.

Qualifications

We're looking for a Senior Engineer – Security & Identity (Auth0) to join our growing Identity practice. In this role, you'll design, build and deliver modern Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions, helping organisations create secure, scalable and seamless digital experiences for millions of users.

You'll work alongside experienced identity specialists, architects and engineers across a range of industries, solving complex authentication, authorisation, federation and customer identity challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and implement customer identity solutions using Auth0.
• Build secure authentication and authorisation services for customer-facing applications and digital platforms.
• Configure and customise login, registration, profile management and self-service identity journeys.
• Develop and maintain integrations using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML and other modern identity standards.
• Design federation solutions with enterprise identity providers and third-party platforms.
• Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), adaptive authentication and risk-based access controls.
• Develop custom identity workflows, Actions and integrations to support complex customer and business requirements.
• Collaborate with application, platform and security teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical leadership and engineering best practices.

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience delivering Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Auth0.
• Strong understanding of:
• OAuth 2.0
• OpenID Connect (OIDC)
• SAML
• Federation
• Single Sign-On (SSO)
• Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
• Experience integrating identity platforms with modern web, mobile and API-based applications.
• Experience in one or more languages such as JavaScript/Node.js, TypeScript, C#, Java or Python.
• Experience working with cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with other identity platforms such as Okta, Entra ID (Azure AD), Ping Identity, ForgeRock or SailPoint.
• Experience designing CIAM solutions for large-scale customer-facing platforms.
• Knowledge of identity governance, privileged access and modern security architectures.
• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as financial services, government, healthcare or utilities.
