ASX Limited in Sydney is seeking a Senior Engineer – DevOps & Platform Engineering to lead platform engineering, automation and observability across the Equities Trading Technology ecosystem. The role is hands-on and platform‑enablement focused, driving CI/CD pipelines, IaC templates, secure delivery and standardized engineering practices to improve reliability. This role will collaborate with Architecture and Cyber Security to ensure secure, scalable delivery in a hybrid work environment.

**About the Role**The Senior Engineer – DevOps & Platform Engineering is responsible for designing, building and evolving the engineering platforms, automation frameworks and operational tooling that underpin the Equities Trading Technology ecosystem. The role serves as the technical lead for DevOps practices within the domain, enabling software engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure and resilient solutions through automation, standardisation and platform engineering principles. Working across development, testing and operational teams, the Senior Engineer establishes consistent deployment patterns, infrastructure automation, observability capabilities and engineering standards that improve delivery quality, operational resilience and developer productivity.This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on platform enablement rather than infrastructure administration. **About the Team**The Equities Trading Technology team delivers trusted, highly resilient platforms supporting Australia's cash equities and options markets.Working alongside Software Engineers, Principal Engineers, Product Owners, Architecture, Cyber Security and Production Assurance teams, the DevOps Lead enables modern engineering practices and platform capabilities that support ASX's strategic technology objectives. **Key Purpose**To establish and continuously improve DevOps, Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering capabilities that:· Accelerate software delivery through automation.· Improve reliability and operational resilience.· Reduce operational risk through standardised engineering practices.· Enhance platform observability and operational insight.· Enable engineering teams through reusable tooling and self-service capabilities.· Support safe, controlled and auditable delivery of change.**What You'll Do****Platform Engineering Leadership**· Act as the technical lead for DevOps and Platform Engineering within Equities Trading Technology.· Define domain engineering standards, tooling strategies and automation roadmaps.· Promote platform engineering principles that enhance developer experience and self-service delivery.· Partner with Principal Engineers and Architecture teams to align platform capabilities with strategic technology objectives.**CI/CD and Delivery Automation**· Design, implement and maintain modern CI/CD deployment pipelines.· Improve release automation, deployment consistency and environment management.· Establish reusable deployment templates and engineering accelerators.· Drive adoption of automated validation, testing and security controls.**Infrastructure as Code**· Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code patterns and reusable infrastructure modules.· Improve consistency, auditability and repeatability of infrastructure provisioning.· Promote immutable infrastructure and automation-first operating models.· Support cloud and on-premises deployment environments.**Observability & Reliability Engineering**· Design and implement monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting capabilities.· Establish operational health metrics, service-level indicators and reliability objectives.· Drive proactive identification of operational risks and performance bottlenecks.· Support production readiness assessments and operational assurance activities.**DevSecOps Enablement**· Integrate security controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.· Promote secure engineering practices and automated policy compliance.· Partner with Cyber Security teams to improve security posture and assurance.· Implement security scanning, validation and governance controls within delivery pipelines.**Operational Excellence**· Support incident response, root cause analysis and post-incident improvement activities.· Develop automation to simplify operational processes and support activities.· Reduce manual effort through tooling, automation and workflow optimisation.· Continuously improve resilience, recoverability and supportability of production services.**Accountabilities**· DevOps tooling and platform capabilities.· CI/CD engineering standards and adoption.· Automation maturity across delivery teams.· Observability and monitoring effectiveness.· Platform reliability and operational readiness.· Delivery pipeline performance and engineering productivity.· Compliance with ASX technology, operational risk and security standards.We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
