Job summary

Consolidated Power Projects Australia (CPP) is expanding its in-house design engineering team and seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to deliver practical, compliant civil designs for HV substations, battery storage, and renewable energy projects across Australia.

You will mentor junior engineers, guide stormwater, earthworks, pavements and access road design, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructible solutions and continuous improvement in CPP's civil design processes.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree (RPEQ or CPEng highly regarded).
• 7+ years of civil design experience, preferably in energy, utilities, mining or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian design standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience in HV substation and/or utility grid connections civil design is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative, practical, and safe civil designs for HV substations, battery storage systems and renewable energy projects.
• Provide technical guidance across civil elements: stormwater drainage, earthworks, pavements and access road design.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers and construction professionals to ensure designs are compliant and constructible.
• Mentor design engineers and graduates and support ongoing innovation and continuous improvement in CPP's civil design processes.

The Opportunity

We're expanding our civil design engineering capability and are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join CPP's highly experienced in-house national design engineering team. If you're passionate about complex civil design and want to contribute to renewable energy infrastructure, this is your chance to make a real, national impact.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative, practical, and safe designs for high-voltage substations, battery storage systems and renewable energy projects. You'll provide technical guidance across a range of civil elements, including stormwater drainage, earthworks, pavements and access road design.

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and construction professionals, you'll ensure that all designs are compliant, constructible, and aligned with project requirements.

In addition to your design responsibilities, you'll also contribute to mentoring design engineers and graduates, fostering technical development within the team, and supporting ongoing innovation and continuous improvement across our civil design processes.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A degree in Civil Engineering (RPEQ or CPEng highly regarded)
• 7+ years of experience in civil design, ideally within energy, utilities, mining or large infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of Australian design standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Whilst not essential, experience in High-Voltage (HV) substation and/or utility grid connections civil design will be highly regarded
