ADG is a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex work across civil and infrastructure, structures and construction services. The Hobart office works on projects across Tasmania, from Launceston to Hobart, shaping the state’s built environment.

You will join collaborative teams on airports, hotels, hospitals and commercial developments with hands-on responsibility. We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Hobart team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
RPEQ registration is required or eligible.
7–10+ years of civil design experience is expected.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are essential.
Experience managing production and review of detailed engineering drawings.
Knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design.
Understanding of design and commercial risk.
Experience preparing Business Cases, Planning Reports and Design Development Reports.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Strong written and verbal communication to foster client relationships.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Hobart. This is a pivotal role focused on planning, managing, and delivering a diverse range of complex civil engineering projects.

You will be responsible for ensuring successful project outcomes by managing quality, costs, and schedules to consistently exceed client expectations. This includes overseeing and reviewing project planning and detailed design, delivering work to a high standard, and ensuring solutions are both innovative and commercially sound.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
RPEQ registration
7–10+ years of demonstrated civil design experience
Strong problem-solving ability and critical thinking capability
Experience managing the production and review of detailed engineering drawings
Working knowledge of construction methods and their influence on design
Sound understanding of design and commercial risk
Experience preparing clear and concise Business Cases, Planning Reports, and Design Development Reports
Demonstrated project management experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster strong client and stakeholder relationships
Proven ability to mentor and support a team, promoting capability growth and design excellence
