Job summary

Scentre Group is seeking a data analytics professional to develop and implement data collection, management and BI capabilities across energy operations. You will conduct analytics projects, research electricity markets, and provide insights to optimise energy usage and profitability.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in analytics, strong SQL/Cognos/TM1 skills, and experience with Python and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/BigQuery). The role offers permanent, full-time work in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a data analytics field managing large complex data sets
• Tertiary qualifications in information technology / Engineering / business or related field
• Experience processing data in large-scale environments using SQL, Cognos, TM1 and ideally R and/or Python with AWS/Azure/BigQuery
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Experience analysing energy and metering data is a plus but not essential
• Advanced experience with data processing and visualisation tools like Excel, Tableau and PowerBI

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement methods for collecting, managing and analysing data and related business intelligence capabilities
• Undertake analytical projects to answer key energy questions and provide actionable insights to optimise energy usage
• Research electricity market and prepare competitive energy offers and analyse margin/profitability for internal stakeholders
• Own and operate data flows to support analysis and automate data processes
• Assist energy group with insights to support purchasing, billing, reconciliation and new projects
• Drive data-driven decision making and present recommendations for efficient energy operations
• Perform modelling and analysis on large, complex data sets to derive business insights and forecasts
