Job summary

Clifford Chance LLP in Sydney seeks a Senior Associate to join its growing Employment group. You will work on complex, cross-border advisory, transactional and contentious employment matters, collaborating with corporate, finance, restructuring and disputes teams across jurisdictions.

You will advise on employment issues including litigation, contracts, executive appointments, outsourcing, discrimination, new legislation and M&A-related employment aspects.

Qualifications

• 4+ PQE required
• Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters from a top tier practice
• Self-starter with aptitude for client engagement and development

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to deliver commercial and practical legal solutions to our clients.
• Draft legal documents clearly and concisely.
• Create solutions using legal knowledge and effective research techniques.
• Challenge and test advice against legal compliance and risks.
• Be proactive to pursue and expand legal knowledge and stay up to date with developments.
• Engage with knowledge resources and contribute to firm knowledge initiatives.
• Contribute to practice growth and business development.
• Manage matters with strong commercial discipline including client and team communication, timely timesheet submission, and conflicts clearance processes.
• Adopt best delivery tools including Legal Support Centre, Resource Management, Legal Project Managers, and Matter Balance Reports.

Education

Australian qualification preferred

England & Wales or other Commonwealth qualifications considered
