Job summary

CPB Contractors is delivering a major rail and infrastructure project in South East Queensland. The Senior Project Engineer will lead on-site engineering, coordinating design, procurement and construction to meet milestones and maintain safety and quality across multi-discipline teams.

The role requires 7+ years in rail projects, Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong cost control, planning and stakeholder liaison capabilities for a local Australian civil contractor.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Rail Industry Worker competencies and inductions.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience in rail projects.
• Experience delivering project scopes between $10M and $50M.
• Development of scope, planning and risk management to meet project requirements.
• SHEQ processes and management of others in SHEQ procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage the teams SCAS submissions and coordinating readiness for delivery.
• Ensure submissions are on time and of high quality.
• Review designs and provide constructability feedback.
• Plan and develop scope packaging and subcontractor procurement.
• Oversee on-site delivery with responsibility for safety, cost, program, quality and compliance.
• Forecast costs and report to ensure awareness of financial position and risks.
• Develop and maintain a detailed program of works to meet milestones.
• Coach and train team to align with project objectives.
• Build strong relationships with site personnel to ensure timely delivery.
• Champion a safety-first culture across the project.
• Liaise with client and independent certifier to maintain satisfaction.
